Admission Test

Qualification assessment process

There is no numerus clausus (NC), but there is a qualification assessment process consisting of two stages:

1st stage on the basis of the application documents

  • 50 % overall grade of the university entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur)
  • 50 % arithmetic mean of all math grades of the upper school semesters
  • The grades are converted into points between 0 and 100. If a grade cannot be determined, 40 points are awarded.
  • Applicants who achieve less than 70 points in the 1st stage are unfortunately not suitable for the degree program. Those who achieve at least 70 points will progress to the 2nd stage.

2nd stage with online test

  • 50 % overall grade of the university entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur)
  • 50 % grade of online test
  • The grades are converted into points between 0 and 100. If the grade of the university entrance qualification cannot be determined, 40 points are awarded.
  • Applicants who achieve less than 70 points in the 2nd stage are unfortunately not suitable for the degree program. Those who achieve at least 70 points can enroll.

Detailed information as well as the conversion scales can be found in the statutes on the qualification assessment process (= Eignungsfeststellungsverfahren/EFV).

Online test

There are several dates for the online test in each application period, but each applicant can only take the test once during this time.

Dates: will be published at least one week prior
Time: tba
Duration: 1h
Language: English
Topics:  math (upper school level) and general problem solving

There will be a sample test so that applicants can familiarize themselves with the platform and the different question types.
Applicants will receive the link to the real test together with further information at least one week in advance.

Applicants will not receive any interim results. They will only receive a decision once the qualification assessment process has been completed for them.
There is no fixed timetable for this, as each application is assessed and processed individually.
